We went to the beach on Wednesday with Kaleia, the author of a mangroves book, and Marcelo, Jp, and David, creators of an app Operation: Environmental Awareness. Together we got plastic bags and cleaned up trash on the beach. What we ended up picking up was too much plastic, non biodegradable foam, toys, cigarettes, and food. Also, we interviewed random strangers, such as security guards, visitors from New Jersey, and old people. What we asked them was first "What do you think of the beaches in Key Biscayne?" and "What do you think about the trash in these beaches being washed up and killing sea turtles, manatees, and fish?"
When we interviewed a humble old lady, she said "It is our fault that WE are not acting up to clean the future for the kids." Another woman said "These beaches are fine."
Well.... we don't think so due to what we found!
